Psychodynamic Approach

Psychodynamic therapy focuses on unconscious processes as they are manifested in the patient’s present behaviour. The goals of psychodynamic therapy are client self-awareness and understanding of the influence of the past on present behaviour.

Understanding the “Fight or Flight” Response

Stress activates the “fight or flight” response, which can release stress hormones that have negative effects on the brain and body if the stress is chronic.

Exploring the Underlying Experiences

By exploring the underlying emotional, mental, and physical experiences associated with high stress, individuals can gain a deeper understanding of their symptoms and learn healthy coping mechanisms.

Resilience and Empowerment

This holistic approach emphasizes the connection between bodily sensations and emotional reactions, helping individuals develop resilience and empowerment to overcome stressful experiences. Through psychodynamic treatment, individuals can achieve lasting healing, strengthen their resilience, and reduce chronic stress.
